is this a good deal?

my cousin is selling his 2004 honda 450r for $4,500. the bike has a full curtis sparks exhaust, a steering stabilizer, new handle bars, nerf bars and an aftermarket filter. he says he has maybe only ridden the bike around 50 hours cause he just rides his rhino. does this sound like a good deal? thanks for the help

ride it, see if everything feels "tight", U don't want a "loose/sloppy" feeling machine. Does it look like it was maintaned well? If everything looks good, $4500 still isn't a screamin deal, I say try to get closer to $4000.

thanks for the quick reply. im going to see the bike for the first time tomorow and i will see how set he is on 4,500. i called all the local dealerships in AZ to see if they had any 05 or 06 450r that they were willing to sell for cheap, but none had any. i am kind of worried about buying a used bike, because you never know what you are going to get i guess atleast this bike is coming from a family member so hopefully he isnt sellin me a crappy bike.

$4500 seems a little on the high side for mostly stock R.

Check the for sale section to see what other bikes are going for.

You should be able to get a new 05 from the dealer for around 5k

i went and rode the bike today and it felt pretty good. the bike comes with a full set of paddles front and rears mounted on douglas rims. 18" holeshot mxs on douglas wheels and stock front tires on douglas wheels are also included. the only thing that i did not like about the bike was the shaved front fenders, but im assuming i can buy new fenders for pretty cheap......

Western Honda in Scottsdale still advertises NEW '05's in the cycle trader. Ya might want to give them a call. Same trader is FULL of 450r's. Shop around, the Phoenix area has lots of potential when looking for a new ride.
