I have been to Glamis and Dumont.I liked Glamis better.

hey what part of MO do you live in? have you ever been through BELTON? have you ever gone down to DEEPWATER? my farm is only 20 miles from deepwater. i have nver been yet.

GLAMIS AND DUMONT!!! but like HB416EX said, glamis is way better. i could hang out at oldsmobile hill all day. i am gpin down to little sahara in march. that place is a blast too.

When in march are you going? I might be goin the first weekend of march ... and probly 17th and 18th in march

I have only been to the silver lake dunes is MI. So I guess its my fav. But for some reason it likes to break are stuff.

Of the dunes I've been to: Wynoka, OK; Glamis, CA; Coos Bay/Charleston, Oregon.

The Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area is by FAR and away my favorite dunes to ride in. It's not even close.

well we got there on the 8th, and camped at yogi bear camp ground, and set up camp, i went with my best friend phil, and his family, and then went out riding, well on the first day, my starter wire got messed up, and we fixed that with tape lol. so we drove the go karts after, and then thursday we started goin big off the hills, my clutch lever broke, but luckily the store right at the entrance had tons of parts, and then later that day, a kid on a rm 80 went full speed and caught some air to land on a jeep hood.

Friday was full of huge air and pain, well at first we were jumpin the 3rd hill goin like 70 feet down it, and 15-20 feet in the air off it, and got about 80 or so people watchin us on the walkin dunes, cause we were the only ones jumpin the hills , and then this dirtbiker came up, and talked to me, and said that outta the 7 years he's been goin there, i'm the farthest and highest he's ever seen a quad jump the hills :aay :woowoo: , which really made me feel good bein on a stock dvx, and then my friend thought he would out jump me on his dirtbike, but i out did him by 2 or 3 bike lengths, so i went again, and accidentally jumped the 2nd hill 4th pinned, instead of the last hill, and so my face hit the handle bars when i landed, and i thought i broke my nose and some teeth but only got a bruised nose, and messed my lips up, so i rode back to the 3rd hill, and when i went slow over it cause of my face, my friend said everyone put their arms up like whats goin on, and got all dissapointed, so i couldn't dissapoint my crowd, and kept jumpin the hill until i really messed up for the rest of the day lol, and so then the last time i jumped the 3rd hill, i went huge off it, and my back end kicked sideways, so i landed to the right, bounced to the left, and then to the right, and then my quad threw me over the handle bars, luckily i didn't break anything, and then everyone came over, and so on, and i found out my a/c bumpers completely demolished, and i might need a new radiator, so ya, won't have pics of bumper till tomorrow, and after that we went back to yogi bear,

so saturday comes, and i decide to sit out, which i was kinda dissapointed about cause, there were so many people watching my friend jumps the hills, and i couldn't, and then we were out there for about 45 minutes in his uncles jeep, and we hadn't seen phil for a while so we got woried, and then we heard sirens, so we didn't think anything of it, but were still worried, and so we go to the beach, and a lady comes up in her jeep, and says are you a uncle of a kid on the dirtbike who's been jumpin hills, and jeff's like ya, she's like he went off the first hill, and hit a hummer, so we rush over to "test hill", and see the bike laying there, everyones lookin at the accident from the top of the hill, and the hummers there, well here's the story, the hummer kept gettin stuck, and finally made it over, but when he did, he went to far, so he stopped half way down the hill, and decided to try backing up with the tires full of air, well your never suppose to do stop on the other side, so my friend figured he went down, and so he jumps the hill, and see the hummer, so he locked up the brakes in air, landed, got thrown into the hummer, then the bike did too, and then the bike landed on him, luckily he only got a bruised kidney, and a badly cut knee, but what's funny is he has the letters hum inprinted on his arm lol, which i'll show u a pic of. nothin really happened to the hummer, it was an H3, and his bike needs a full new pipe, sub frame, and i believe that's it.

so sunday we just went home with 3 of the 4 quads/bikes broken lol

i was dissapointed though, no buggys jumped, and only 1 other dirtbiker was goin as big as us off the dunes, well had lots of fun, but it's really dangerous, and now we're seriously considering getttin rid of the 400 to get a 450 so i can have much better suspension, and power.

The Oregon Dunes are just different, and really really nice... Otherwise, I regularly ride Dumont/Glamis. I like Glamis for all the tight turns and drop off's which make for a lot of fun.... and I like Dumont for the giant/steep/razorbacks dunes. Dumont feels like home to me when I am riding there... And Glamis sucks on holiday weekends because camping in the washes is worthless. I would rather not go. :P

only dunes i have been to are badlands in, and st. joes mi, both arent really dunes dunes but its fun to mess around in the sand, heres the only pics i have from badlands from way back in the day
