Well I made my own steering stem in march. I crash on the second to last lap of my last race of the season. The quad completely roll and land flat on the stem bending back about 4 inchs and cracking it. I race the rest of the race like going over a 35ft table and going through the biggest whoops you ever seen. I'm surprised it didn't snap, It made it all the through my racing season, and learning how to jump and every things. It looks like I'm going to have to bite the bullet and buy a real stem.

Let me see it, lol. Ever consider modding a stocker into a antivibe. My buddy did it on his R.

Well the one I made, I used some of the stock stem. I was going to make it anti-vib but its now broke. I have all the parts that got from a dirt bike. I buying gibsom pretty cheap so I will just go with that. Plus to make a good stem I would have to get some 4130 chromoly to make it strong enough which is expensive. But I was think, I have a couple of old BMX frames with 1-1/8 dia tubing thats 4130. I may still make it just to have an extra one.

This picture doesn't really show how bad the bend was but you could only turn about half as far each way as normal because the bottom of the handle bar clamp would hit the tank plastic. I now have an LSR anti-vibe which is so much nicer. Not only does it help suck up the bumps but it's so much stronger. I've had rolls that were much worse then the one that bent the stocker and have yet to bend this one.

It was easy for him, he just copied off a Laeger, got some steel tubing , mounted it like a "T" like the aftermarkets, and then the mounts for the bushings and clamps were put on. Its quite simple.
