Hey, I have a few questions on some older quads that I cant seem to find.

The Suzuki lt230 - 2 or 4 stroke? Good power?

Suzuki lt250 - 2 or 4 stroke? The equivilant of hondas 250r?

lt500 - its the quadzilla, correct? 2 or 4 stroke?

The Warrior - how many cc's?

Thanks guys, I know I sound stupid but I am looking for a project quad and have seem some in the paper and was wondering if it was worth it.

LT230 - 4 stroke with a manual clutch I beleve. Nothing special as far as power goes, good for trails. If you find one running for a good price I would pick it up, but wouldn't put much if any money into it.

LT250 - I never heard of the 4 stroke ones, but thats just me. They are a 6 speed 2 stroke, I think they were made from 86 though to 91 or 92. The newer models came with a powervalve from the factory. The motors were faster than the honda 250r motors, but they didn't handle as good as the honda. Also the motors weren't as reliable.

The LT500/Quadzilla is a 500cc 2 stroke, 6 speed manual. I heard that these made 55 HP stock, I think the only quad that has made more power than that stock is the new bombardier 800's. The LT500 flat out rips. But like the 250 didn't have the best reliability or handling, compared to the Honda.

The warrior is the same thing as the new raptor 350. The only big differences are the plastics, the raptor 350 has 20inch tires instead of 22inch ones, and I think the raptor 350 had a little more free'er (SP) flowing factory exaust. Good motors, and they take well to mods, but they were a simple design, and compared to the 300ex, and the lakota 250 which were in the same class, it was lacking a little in power.

They were made in 89/90 only.It was the kickstart motor from the 230 bored to 246CC it had the T seat and came with white plastics/blue graphics.Probably the rarest quad made,I have one in my garage 90% original except the broken rear plastic where my dad crashed into me:ermm:

The Quadsport had a kick start and manual clutch the Quadrunner had an autoclutch and was electric/pullstart.

Good reliable trail quad, but no I wouldn't put money into it. If you can get it for cheap to just ride around then go for it, but not worth putting a whole lot into IMO.

I would also say no to the warrior. Especialy if you already have a 400ex, it's gonna take alot to get the motor up to par with your 400ex. If your a fan of 2 strokes look for an old 250 of any kinda, banshee, or a quadzilla. If money is kind of tight I would look into ether a banshee, or a 250r, parts for those are greater, easier to find, and cheaper. 2 stroke motors are easy to work on, and would be a good start into motor work.

if you love to wrench alot! then get a lt500
ride it for 2 days take it apart and ride it for 2 more take it apart ...
i used to have a zilla till i just rode it tell it died i got so tired of the thing braking. a stock good running motor can give 59hp and alotta torque.

Sadly in the end the warrior is the only one worth dumping money in unless you have great personal desire over one quad. parts are still readily available for the warrior and they are always bought and sold, oh yea lt250 was 5 and 6 speed depending on year the four stroke 250 wasnt quite just a bored out 230 but I would love to have a nice one to stash away as they are super rare.
