Cross Country and hare Scramble racers....other then 450 riders

Just curious on how many people race something other then a 450 in XC or HS events? Prally should take 400ex out of it but I will leave it. Just seems 450s rule everything now.

I remember when I first started racing there was prally 20 400ex 10 Zs and KFXs, a gas gas, 2 banshees, 1 or 2 300exs and maybe a blaster.

Now its 35 450s a few 400s maybe 1 or 2 other quads.

I race a King Quad 700 and a 416ex now. Ust to race the ole banshee back in the day lol.

Ive been on some type of Raptor since 2005, i finally bailed off the 660 at the end of 06 but ill be back this season on a 700r.....I dont like to blend in with all the 450 riders and just cant get over the Raptors, so thats what ill keep runnin with:D

Well, the 450's are the first race minded quads since the 250R back in the day.

In stock form, the EX is not intended to be raced.

With the 416 upgrade and decent suspension, you should be able to run with the 450's in the woods.

On a MX track, you'll have more trouble keeping up.

i raced a 300ex all year this year, but then again I was in the air cooled class...lol(91-200 2 str 91-300 4 str) then again, I am racing a 450 this year...lol

Just cause you see 450's doesnt mean you cant pass them on your 400ex, banshee, 300ex even.. You can go fast on any type of quad, just takes the rider.. Every quad is a frame with wheels on it, some are better then others but it's still a quad. If your fast on what you have then clean house on it!

I raced D5 harescrambles on a almost stock 300ex. Ended up 19 overall at the end of the year. Passed quite a few 450's this year. Think they were a bit surprised when they saw some kid passing em. Hopefully get some pics as soon as we get it back together, if we ever get it back together:ermm:

But I know for sure I will be racing this. Trying to save for my new tires. I have a diffrent snorkel on it now Had to make it look alot better. Since I might do some mud bogs this year and Race XC with it I really had to make it look good and be low profile

yeah I kicked around a diffrent color frame.. but I then decided to go with just all black.. It made it look prety clean..

I really only have raced 2 but that is because of how much money they are. I have been to Salem, Ohio's and there new track at skyview. I give the difficulty a 8/10

I race my Cannondale in the Iowa HareScramble Series. I know what you are saying about the 450's, although they are best setup from the factory, there are just so many of them. Being a little unique is nice, it takes a lot to make a 450 unique... LOL:p :eek2:

I'm starting the VXCS/GNCC XC Series on my 2001 300ex this year. It will be my first year racing, but I plan on moving up to a 450 soon as well.

I will count Cdales too. there is only 1 guy that still races one in my area.

i love my ex!! its a great all around bike and i dont have to many problems with the 450's.....in the woods:D they always walk a lil' after 2nd gear in the straights but im on this bike to get faster before i go to a 450...any ways heres mine waiting for saturday...our 1st race of the season:eek2: :eek2: :eek2:

That 250ex is sick! Makes me wish I never sold mine. For some reason I like those handguards, maybe because of the green monster energy stickers. I just wish the 250ex's were chain driven. Do you have any other pics from different angles?
