I got the urge to buy something new and came home with this.

I actually paid about $250 less than my '04 :huh $6500 OTD. This was the only '07 kicker this dealer had, but I know of one dealer east of Cleveland with two, and a dealer near Pittsburgh with two.

I'd think that that time of year you could get a better deal. Its like trying to sell ATVs in Arizona during the summer...you get a much better price cause demand is down.

Nice bike you hardly ever see the 06/07's in kick. Its the way to go.

The thing is that people dont know what they are doing, and push on the gas while trying to start, witch put's load on the e-star causing th clutch to go bad. thats all just people that dont know how to use it right.

No, cause if this was all you did you would crack your case.

The battery gets to the point where it doesn't even have enough power to turn the motor fast enough to start.

Sounds like Honda needs a bigger starter gear or more higher of a cold cranking amp battery

crack the case on what the starter? i guess i dont understand your post i have looked at it like 5 times, and i still dont get it

i get the point on the batt, it is a lil weak, but i have never been let down by it yet...

look guys... just because some people have had problems with a few starters doesnt mean they're all junk. if there was a real problem there would have been a recall. if a majority of people had a problem with the e start, who in the hell would buy a honda. anyways, nice bike.

This is a problem with all of the 450Rs The kickers you can not touch the gas while kicking, and the ER's you can not touch the gas while hitting the starter button. You will crack the side case. I dont know how else to say it!? The entire side case cover will crack right by the kicker. Well if you have a kicker thats where it cracks.

I have yet to see one single 450ER at our track that didn't have to be bump started. This is not a few people. Suzuki new their frames were cracking on the z 400's did they recall them?

I dont know why that would be. a high comp piston in it maybe? if so someone should show them the Decompressor ADJ.

increasing the decomp gap......INCREASES compression...

decreasing the decomp gap....DECREASES compression...

Here that should help them. no reason the E-start should not work.... if set up right :D

A high compression piston shouldn't change a single thing with the decompression mechanism. The first one I saw was two weeks old and completely stock down to the handlebars and tires.

The ER can be debated forever, but plain and simple, they have some serious issues, PERIOD. I had an 06ER and sold it and bought an 07 kicker a few months ago.

That Banshee might be up for sale. I really hate to let it go since it's such a low hour quad, but I need to make some room.

About 10 of the people i ride with have electric starts and atleast 7 have been back to the dealer because the starter clutch went bad , and all 10 have bought new batterys because they killed them tryin to start them. If ur getting a 450 get a kicker no if ans or buts about it , its the way to go.

if you race XC kicker is the only way to go, i can be revved out in 2nd and hitting 3rd before the ER's even get started!

WOW,i didn't no er's were that bad.Does any one know if the starters can be beeped up to help matters

No matter what you do the battery does not have enough power to turn over the battery. It gets even worse when the bike is hot because there is more resistance. Like said before no matter what you do you will have troubles with starting. Thats why i put a kicker on mine. BTW nice 07

Yeah, uhmm...

Never had to bump start my quad at the track the whole time i've had it...

I've stalled it when its REALLY hot while riding tight trails, hit that starter button and away I go...

And yeah, that 07 is nice.. I wish mine was that shiny
