That was a helluva 500!:) I was upset my driver Stewart gotten taken out while getting back in the lead but still enjoyed the race. I was pulling for Martin at the end but he didn't have any help. Oh well.

I was rooting for mark as well. I think he would rather get 2nd then have first handed to him though.

BUt good thing about the wreck my driver got threw it and ended up 7th when he was around 20th the whole race

You dont win races by deserving it. Thats why Martin did not win and has never been a Champion. He is not the caliber driver that is needed to win the Daytona 500. He is a Putz.

Coming within less then a fender length to win the Daytona 500 I think he did pretty good. He might not be the best but he is still a damn good driver...expecially for his age and how much energy and stress it takes

I was cheering for him as well.

He really didn't deserve the win anyway. He only got into the lead by taking 2 tires and beating everyone off of pit road. He was far from the fastest car throughout the race. IMO Kyle busch DESERVED to win because he was fast all race, but I am glad that he didn't get it.

Theres more to winning than just going fast, you need the whole package. Sometimes strategy is better than being fast.

Everytime I watch a NASCAR race (which is every weekend) I swear I'll never watch another one again. I'm not a Martin fan but come on..... I love when a racing orginization bends the rules to suit whatever agenda they see fit. Nascar decided the outcome of that race, when there is a wreck the caution should come out, not after the leaders cross the finish line. I guess we are going to see racing back to the finish line after a crash like in the good old days :grr: :macho

^^^^ agree^^^^^ as far as Martin being a putz, please wake up! I was rooting for Martin and it would have been awesome to see someone his age to win just to show the younger drivers not to forget about the veterans on th track!:muscle:

the man is 48 years old and has never won a 500. that is why i wish he would have won it. as for being a putz why is he a putz? because he is probably the oldest guy out there on the track racing with the newbies?

Lets see we should have all cheered him on because he is 48? He is a putz because with over 25 years in cup racing he has no Daytona 500 wins and 0 Championships and has only became a kind old man in the last few years. If you remember when Ford drivers switched from the t-bird to the taurus. He whined and whined the taurus was inferior to the chevys. Then he won the next race. He is a putz. Statistically he is a decent driver but not a great "deserving " driver. Just my opinion.

I must recant my statement after seeing all the video on wind tunnel this morning. If the caution was thrown at the moment the wreck started Harvick would still have been the winner because he was ahead of Martin coming out of turn 4 then Martin regained the lead after the wreck had already started.

If you want to talk about controversy, how about the finish of the Truck race. Talk about a clear violation of the rules. There is no "grey" area in the rule books about going below the yellow line and improving your position. Every TV in the free world saw Benson a half truck below the yellow line to take second:eek2: :rolleyes: :grr: :mad:
