check ur rear tail light wires for ware marks and cuts were it could ground out and touch the frame and if that aint it take ur plastics off in the front and check the wires goin too the head lights cause they also ware there and shortout....find the cut ot ware and tape it or replace the wire...happy hunting and good luck

This happens often on older 400EX quads. It's a worn wire under the hood area. Trace the wires back from the front head light area and you'll find one rubbing or chaffing against the frame. The wire is shorting out on the frame and blowing the fuse once the wire is energized.

its what hornetgod13 said. however the handfull of 400exs i have fixed the problem is right after the black rubber boot on the back of the headlights. you can see a metal bracket rubbing against them if you look straight done by the headlights. take your headlights out patch up the wire and bend that bracket out of the way and you will be good 2 go
