homemade ebrake block off?

i sthere any way to take the p brake off and leaving the stock plate thingy on there? i was thinking about just puting a steel plate over it ? andyone have any ideas?

Anything will work as long as it seals the caliper piston hole. You will have to grind down the rod that comes off the back of the piston if you use a straight piece of metal. It won't let the piston return all the way, that is why the block off plates are raised in the center.

not even worth wasting your time. You can buy a brake blockoff from Rocky Mountain ATV for less than $10. It is the Tusk brand.

This is what i did to a buddies.
Remove the plate.Take a hax-saw and cut off the parking brake lever on the plate.Remove the center screw it has left handed
threads.Clean up the hole with brake wash.Fill the hole with
apoxey.When it dries,take a file to it to clean it up.Paint it with some silver paint.It seems like a lot of work,but its not.
Or you can just go buy one for$10 or so

Why do people block the parking brake off????? that might be a dumb question but ive heard so many people do it and dont know why.

My opinion is that it looks sloopy.Also that the parking brake only works the first time or two,and you always have to adjust it.

If you install an extended length swingarm you need to remove the parking brake because the cable is to short. And like the others said... If you need a block off they are only $10

having your parking break adjusted correctly means that whenever your riding your brake pads are barely rubbing on the rotor. This means your brake pads are toast in half the time they norm ally would be. the parking break came off my quad before I even rode it one time.
