alright, so now I've got a 40wx4 pioneer head unit, pioneer 5 1/4 speakers in the doors, and wal-mart 5 1/4 cheapies with blue LED's in the back (kinda cool) STILL HAVE TERRIBLE BASS!!!
I do realize that it won't slam with a 40wx4 deck and crappy 5 1/4 speakers but I was really hopeing it would be better, it really isn't. Should I buy a bigger head unit, OR invest in a small amp and sub??

if you wanting to "slam" get atleast a 400rms amp and a 12inch sub

I left the stock components in my wrangler and through 2- Pheonix digital 12'' subs with a sony xplod head unit and xplod 760 watt amp. And I must say for the money, that motha really pounds!

Buy my ****. Kenwood 7252 amp. Two 12" Alpine Type S subs w/ ported box. ;)
I shouldnt have to say if it's loud or not.

So it sounds like I should get a sub and amp? Any one had experience with bazooka bass tubes with the amp built in? any other ideas? I am not looking for "slam", just decent bass and space is a major concern, so is money

Cherokee stock systems are terrible, I know I have a 97, and nothing in there is stock, but if you looking for bass, buy an amp and a sub. The only way to get it
