check it out new suzuki quadsport z250

http://www.atvconnection.com/atvconnection/The-new-LTZ250.cfm

it uses ozark engine and drive trian
like the 250ex uses the recon engine and drivetrain
and the both get their styling from their "big brothers"

I think it looks like one of the taiwan mini quads. It will walk up and over a 250EX though. 9.2:1 compression and more cc's.

hate to say it but i think that looks better than the 250 ex alot more sporty

it looks ok. i'd still rather have my 250 than that though. yeah its going to be a good competetor. the 250 is lighter though. teh Z250 has a higher compression rate and cc. it'll be interesting to see which one will win!

looks like a cool machine. but once again, honda is the leader. who was the 1st guy to address the 250cc 4stroke market? I am glad to see it come with 20" rear tires.

like most all of us have said, suzuki copied off of honda w/ the z! now its for sure, they copied off honda again! that thig look wise is just like a damn 250ex!

09-30-2002, 06:53 PM

they just copied and make it a lil faster so they could say it beats it that's all.

09-30-2002, 07:08 PM
haha well i think it looks faster, is faster and well have to see about handling but even if they took hondas idea and made it better they still have the better quad, face it honda is fallin behind

personely i dont like the look that much... i think that the seat is way to big for a sport quad especially a small one like that
#12nacs400ex honda is gettin thier *** kicked!
i also dont agree with thatbecause everyone that knows engines will agree that a honda is a honda no matter wat size the machine is

i dunno about honda being killed in sales. You wouldn't beleive how many new 400ex's i'm seeing around here in iowa, you go to the races and there is hondas everywhere same with most tracks even.

09-30-2002, 07:54 PM
well not killed i just met thier going down and if they dotn do somin thier are gonna be some pissed off honda owners who will jump ship to c dale or yamaha or zuki

I don't think it has a manual clutch, just a manual tranny with an auto clutch.

4-punks got a question? how could you put a manual clutch on a shaft driven atv neways? are you sure it dont have a manual clutch

It will be very interesting to line up against one of those some day.

They look more sporty (IMO) than my 250 does. It has higher compression and ccs...but it has 20" rear tires where the ex has 22" rears. To compensate the Z would have to have different gearing. It should be a very close race between the 2 quads.

I think Zuki did the right thing addressing the smaller engine 4-stroke market. Honda had already in a sense with the 300ex but the 250 is a good beginner quad, especially for the younger range of kids of about 12-13 or so.

Just my .02 cents.

Yeah, I agree with most of you, honda is fallin behind. But whose quads will outlast just about any quad on the market? THAT"S RIGHT, THE HONDA! Unmatched reliabilty should be taken over a light wallet any day. Sure it'll be a little faster, but you'd be spendin more money on it.

i don't know why people get anything other than a honda because they say they are faster...sure if you are dragging, they might be...but when i watch races...most everytime i see a 400ex or a r in the lead...

yeah that new z 250 looks good. it has a bigger carb and smaller rear tires. i think 20's. the only thing kinky about it is that it has a exposed shaft. i dont think it is going to anything like the 400. look at the 250 and 400ex. witht the 250ex, honda did some hop ups on it from the recon motor. but the z is the same as the ozark.

I read a review of the Z250 and it said it was the most powerful stock 250cc four stroke ever built. And that it isnt the beginner quad people thought it was. I personally find that hard to believe.

Great idea stealing Hondas lead to tap into the middle market for quads. Other than the 250EX and Z250 what is out there for beginners who need a semi-auto clutch?

Now Zuki needs to nab the KFX700 engine from there business pal and throw in a manual clutch like they did with the Vinson 500. Then shave a few pounds.

She will be bad.

Yeah, I saw this too. On paper this Z looks pretty impressive in comparison to the EX. No matter what the outcome, I will still stick to my Honda. We'll see how the Z handles. It would be cool to race one around the track....I think my ride would have a little something for the Z, if not, it's all good. Let's just ride! :D

Well technically, Kawasaki was the first to get into the auto-clutch sport quad market with the Lakota Sport. I think the Z-250 will probably beat the 250EX, Suzuki has been making a point of beating Honda with all their new quads. And I also expect the Z-250 to be very reliable for the same reason most of the Honda's are reliable, simplicity, there aren't any funny gadgets are computer-controlled this and that on it that can go wrong, so it will probably last.
