I have heard the 06 is better because they put a different motor in it. But i am not exactly positive.

i like the kick starts myself, but i know that the 06 has an upgraded engine and improved shocks. but i have an 05 and i love it.

06 and 07s come off the showroom floor with a higher compression piston and a FCR carb so they are faster in stock form.

I prefer kick start of E-start.

Hope that helps!

I may be a bit biased though!

I second that.

06' Kicker would be a very nice choice.

No E-Start problems....

And the added upgrades they gave the 06' over the 04/05 machines make it hard to beat.

I would go with the 06 bike unless you are going to invest alot into it later.

I personally think and have heard that the 05's are the best year. I have an 04 and 06 kicker and like my over alot better. The 06's run higher compression and a different stroke than the 04-05 but from what i've heard most of the pro's bikes are 05's because they seem to build more power out of the motors in 06 than 06.

Its a horse a piece.. ~Jay

True but a 04-05 motor will only beat a 06 with alot of mods. If you compare the motors from stock to mild like pipe cam airfilter the 06 makes more power. Thats why i said the 06 unless you are going to be spending alot of $.

THe 04/05 had crank bearing problems, the 06/07 have e-start problems, and pro racers are having tranny problems with the 06/07s as well which is another reason most run the 04/05s I doubt 95% of the people on here would ride as hard as the pros do though.:o

I'd say go with the 06 ER or kicker.. They have better suspension that the 05 and will give you a little extra kick for power in stock form.

maybe u guys know something else would u guys consider a yfz 450 for trails or the 450r is better by the way thanx for ur help guys

02-16-2007, 12:19 PM
word is the r is better for trails...but belive me it is a torque monster that likes to rev high and can be a little daunting when coming to obstacles that need to be finessed over...with that being said it is a great bike, but if a better trail machine would be the 400ex, raptor 700, or 'zuki 400
