the guy says it needs a stator, he also says the engine was recently rebuilt but i cannot conferm that of course. the bike is partly dissassembled as of now. he says the shifter, plastic, levers , gas tank are all off but he has them. i have not found out why it is tore apart unless he was trying to troubleshoot it not running. assuming it is just the stator, how much are they and is it worth fixing or should i pass on it??

thanks

Just as long as its not a total head case I would take it sight unseen.

i didnt make it today, but i am going fri afternoon. i used to have a 400ex and i did not like it so hopfully this will be defferent, if not i will just resell it. most of our trails around here are make more for utility quads than sport, the swingarm and brake rotor get caught up on everything here.

aaah noes not a 4x4 stick with the sport and be 1 notch better out there than all the other riders.

well i went and looked at it today, i ended up getting it for 750. it is in very good shape. all plastic is good, he said it has been sitting for about 2 years total(1 for him and 1 for the guy he got it from). the side plate flywheel and stator are all off and ruined. it has no brake fluid in it at all, so currently no brakes at all. it will need carbs cleaned a new stator, pickup, flywheel, clutch and throttle cables at a minimum. the engine turns over fine and has compression(dont know how much yet). he said it still has the stock tires on it. the frame looks perfect( no rust or bends that i could see off hand anyway.
now i guess its ebay time.

i am going to try to get it running, and try it out, but i doubt if i keep it. i am more into bikes at the moment and i would rather have a selectable 4x4 quad anyway, so i will probly sell it after fixing it.

i cant go get it till this coming friday, he forgot he had some of the parts in his car and his wife took it to work.

i am hoping to make a little off of it. i couldnt beleive how good a shape it was in.

the only bad part i see is the key looks like somione took a screwdriver to and ripped the whole cylinder assembly out of the plastic holder. so i dont have a key for it.

i guess i could go to the dealer and get a whole new ***. with key. but may not even mess with that part.
