Haven't got our 525's in Central Cal yet. I was talking with my local dealer today. He seems certain that the 525 in an Outlaw will be short lived because of the ever changing relationship between KTM and Polaris. I know that this rumur is old(R) but does anyone else have something knew to ad? I also thought that this might be some chezzy marketing scam that my dealer is frontin'. Who knows? . . . . .

I heard the same "rumor" from someone at the dealership.
The contract for engines is 5yrs.

The fact is that KTM and Polaris are in business to make money.
KTM will make tons more money if they sell thousands of engines every year to Polaris. Polaris will sell tons more machines every year if they have KTM power plants. I foresee a never ending contract on this situation because both companies wil be making more money.

KTM pretty much sells everything they make right now. I have heard rumors of KTM making their own quads, so maybe the relationship is cooling down and polaris doesn't want KTM to have any more information than they absolutely have to give them.

Im sure all of this was thought out before they made their agreement. Companies like Polaris and KTM don't make wild hair contracts. I'm sure they thought of all of these situations ahead of time.
Perhaps that is why theres no 525 in the Predator, no? Perhaps KTM want's their own straight axle quad.
The KTM Quad has been a rumor for over a decade. And I still have yet to see any frutition. I don't see them hitting the market anytime soon. They don't have the dealership saturation in the US to make a run of it. Perhaps this is the reason for the alliance with Polaris? They are in non-competitive markets. (Dirtbikes, Motard, Dual Sport vs. Snowmobiles, Jet Skis, ATV's)

KTM dealer network is what will hurt them. There are only 3 KTM dealers in my whole state of NH, yet I have 3 Polaris dealers with-in 35min. So dealer support will be a killer. Wasn't much different with Canondale.

KTM 525 Cross Country Quad should be available this year. Originally projected for 3rd Quarter but who knows for sure?? 450 MX Quad supposedly next year. There was some announcement on this here on this site.

Perhaps they plan on dealing through the polaris network?
Would be pretty sweet, and I would love to be proven wrong, but I'll beleive it when I see it.
