we got about 5 inches of snow today, and for the past few hours it has been slowly building up a layer of ice everywhere. they are saying we could see up to 1 inch of ice tonight:eek2:

its been 7 years since we had a decent ice event, and almost 25 years since I remember it being insanely bad. should make for some cool stuff to see tomorrow. right now its not ice or snow, just a heavy fall of fine sleet

Here in Ohio today we got about 3-5 inches and now since about 7 pm its been raining and turning to ice. Now theres about an inch of ice on top of the snow. Just looked outside and it looks like a big sheet of ice.

Pappy, I hope your weather does'nt get too bad, Here's a few pics of our new year's eve 2006 ice storm. Some towns were without power for weeks. Crews still have tons of poles to replace.

Here in NE Ohio we didn't get much ice but we got a bunch of snow in about a 8 hour period. It's hard to tell because of all the drifting but I'd say on average we've got over a foot. They're saying that we're supposed to get another 2-4 today.

I could barely lift my garage open this morning haha, the snow was piled about half way up, then I looked at the snow, and the roof of my truck, and then at how low the garage is....hmmmm

Had be pretty careful not to scrape the roof of my truck because there was so much snow right outside the door! Still snowing pretty bad, supposed to get something like 3 feet I guess... still not that bad

i dont know about other areas, but around the DC area, a dusting causes people to go into snow panick:eek2: 2 days ago, you could hardly find a gallon of milk!

Speaking of closings, I'm suprised we didn't have school today.

We got a new superintendant and he's totally anal about snow days. The past 2 snow storms we got he kept the school open for, and 5 seniors totalled their cars, 2 of which collided with our school buses. All together we had 9 accidents this winter... Bet he feels like a douche now.

i talked to my dad around 8 this morning, he was at work for an hr already, and he said that it was a PITA getting to work. Alot of his employees did not show because of no power, down trees, and couldnt make it up the hills. There were 4 ppl stuck in my neighborhood today, thats insane. Its snowing now:devil:

Same here. We had a bad storm at about the beginning of December and we had to go to school.

6 people (including me) wrecked their cars, 3 buses went off the road, and right before you get to my school there is a big hill you gotta climb. Well, a bus got stuck on it and was there for like an hour trying to get up the hill. The roads were nothing but ice.

Now, if the roads are bad and he doesn't cancel I just don't go. I refuse to drive on this crap.
