I want to remove both the left and right engine side covers and have them powdercoated. Would it be as simple as removing them from the cases and thats all? Or should I expect oil to pour out, internal parts falling out, or anything like that? Any help would be appreciated.

I tried the search button but came up with nothing.

You will have to drain the oil out. As far as parts falling out, there are a few things, inside the covers, like bearings for the starter, and what not.

So pretty much I would just have to drain it of oil, pull the sides off, and watch for gaskets and seals? ALso when I go to put them back on would I have to get new gaskets and seals?

New gaskets, and a new bearing. Should not be much money for those. Do an oil change and filter change while you are there.

On the right side you have the clutch lifter arm and spring which come out easily. There is also a seal and two bearings there, i'm not sure about removal or if they're resuable.

Be on the look out for dowels, there's at least one or two on each side case and I belive there's one on each oil line entering the right case. There's also a one piece rubber gasket for the three holes.

Also, while you have that clutch cover off, There's a Screen on the bottom for your oil pump, it's held in by 1 10mm head bolt, Pull that bolt, pull the screen out, and clean it while your there

I wanted to powdercoat my cases in the future too but now it sounds pretty complex if you ask me, i'm thinking twice now if I want to do this to my quad.

Dont forget about the stator in the left cover also, you'll have to remove that, none of it is really complicated tho.
