seriously WTF with clutch cable burning on HMF pipes???????

This is the 3rd cable and it's been on my quad for about 2 minutes and already it's garbage. i pulled my quad out of my basement after some repairs and started it up. now i knew it would melt through the cable so i was going to wrap it in exhaust tape, but i just wanted to start it because it's been a month since it was last ran. well first it took FOREVER to start. when it finally started within 1 minute of idling the headers turned RED hot, and I mean RED hot:eek2: the cable was toast instantly. HMF is one of the best pipes out there but I dont know anyone with any other pipe that has this problem.

BTW it's on a 2002 400ex.

Look under the header, there's a little circle thing that the cable goes through, bend it down a little bit.

You need to re route the cable or get a longer one or something, this is common knowledge on the 400ex with an aftermarket head pipe...also if they are glowing red you are way lean.
