Guys,
Im thinking of updating my bars to 1 1/8". Probably something like the trail tech version with risers and dash panel. What I need to know is what is involved with this and will I have to replace the standard setup for brake, clutch, switches etc as the standard on an 07 model is only 7/8". Anyone tackled this issue and has comments.

Much appreciated...

You dont have to change anything except the handlebar mounts because that is where the bar is fatter. The bars will taper off at the ends so that all the attachments still fit the way they are supposed to.

PM F-16guy he has the trail tech risers and could probably tell you what's long enough and what isnt. You could get by with your stock front brake line but its going to be tight. You can get some more length out of it if you unbolt it where it mounts by the stem. The throttle and clutch cables may still work.

I have trail tech bar clamps, dashboard, and 1 1/8th X-bars installed on my 400EX.
Nearly all or the original hardware will work on the handle bars. The bars are only 1 1/8th at the mounting area at the steering stem. The bars taper down to 7/8th so most all of the original bar equipment will fit.
The only things that won't fit with the new bars will be the handle bar weights and end caps. The inside diameter of the bars is less so the don't fit properly. The new handle bars are much stronger and thicker. Just buy a nice set of aftermarket grips and you'll be fine.

Spot on Guys, thanks for the input. All I have to do now is find a supplier in the US that wont charge me an arm and a leg for shipping to OZ. ATV parts are very hard to source here and the ones you can get are pretty expensive.

Thanks Again.
