What brand jet kit should I buy? Do the kits come with the needle, or should I get an HRC needle? Do it really matter?

05 450r, HC2, Dasa full exhaust, K&N, Near sea level.

don't waste your money on jet kits...most are just rebadged dynojet kits that are actually listed as different size than the stock carb number series...as an example only, not sure if the these numbers actually coincide or not, but say you have a dynojet jet, for a kehein carb, that is a 160...it may be the same as a kehein 160. if you must buy a jet kit, at least get one with jets that were made by the same company that made your carb...go here for that...

jets-r-us (http://www.jetsrus.com/main_page.htm)

make sure you read their faq section on jets and jetting...it will explain a lot to you

There jet kits only come with main jets, what size pilot jets should I buy, just in case I need to change the stock.

We have had the best performance gains with the HRC jet kit it comes with a new needle and a main jet. I would also use a 50 or 52 pilot.

wpp racing caries individual CRF needles, which are pretty much the HRC needle. I wouldnt waste my time and money on jet kits, call dasa and tell him you have his pipe and the rest of your setup and he will get you pretty close. Just buy individual jets and save your money.

Did your pipe not come with jets? sometimes the cam wont change your jetting at all. you should at least still be able to ride with maybe minor changes. if you richen it up with the a/f screw and fatten the main one size from the pipe jets you should be just about right.

His is the 05.

Get the HRC neddle. Then get a 50 pilot and some mains from you local dealership, ok ask a sponser for some. I'd get a few. 160, 170, 180, 190 Then as you start toying, you can get some in the middle. All I use is a 160,165, 180, 185 but my build and fuel are different. Pilot is a 50
