Is it ok if i sprayed k and N air filter oil on my Twin Air air filter? I dont mean like smother it in the oil so i clog it but lightly from a distance just enough to get the foam sticky. Would it still clog it?

The chemicals in the K&N oil will eventually breakdown the foam. Foam filter oil has special polymers for the foam and it is fairly cheap. I know people who do use K&N oil on foam filters but they tend to clog up and need more cleaning at closer entervals

Why not just oil it correctly?

Get foam filter oil.

K&N is to tacky.. if you only lightly cover it it wont filter correctly either. It's not the foam that filters, it's the oil that filters.

I mean, my lord.. why do people go though so much effort not not buy a correct $5 maintenance item when they will spend $1000's without thought elsewhere on their quads.

(sorry, /rant off, lol)

Usually it's the people using Foam Filter Oil on K&N's though.

juss curious. what would yall say is a good life span of a foam filter that has been properly maintained with the "proper" foam filter oil?

I've yet to have one go bad, but I've seen some of my buddys UNIs fall apart from improper cleaning methods...

also the idea behind using the correct filter oil, to me anyways, is to filter dirt, not make my filter last longer.
