Ok, my rebuild is all done and the bike is now running.

My only problem is that no matter how i position my clutch cable, it's always touching the headers. I don't want to use zip ties, i already tried and it does a terrible job and it looks bad as well.

Could anyone be kind enough to post a few detailed pictures of how they positioned their clutch cable from the clutch lever to all the way down?

If you have a repair manual, it has all the cable routing including detailed pictures.

I have one and went through it half a dozen times. Only found a few obscure pictures of the cable here and there.

The genuine honda service manual has a whole section on cable and wire routing. You must have the Clymer's manual.

Possibly, it's a scanned version i found on the net. 263 pages. Anyway, no pictures in there so could someone take 3-4 pictures of their cable please?

the 250x clutch cable is the solution to your problem;)

i know u can buy a diff cable to reroute it away from the header but im not sure what cable it is.. like bigfish said the 250x cable so that one might be it...plus if u have an aftermarket header u might have that problem till u reroute it...

Hey all

I just put a new headpipe on my 400 and there is a small metal wire with a loop at the end of it did you foget to put it back its ajustable meaning you can bend it around so that the cable misses the head pipe all together. It mounts on the rt engine mount . Good Luck

Oh so that's where it goes!

I was trying to screw it on top of the radiator and it was making the cable touch the headers even more. I'll try hooking it up to the right engine mount and see what happens.

Thanks!
