Ok guy's I know all about running a search, but I want to hear opinions from everyone that has one on which is the best aftermarket pipe out there. I'm getting ready to buy and pretty sure I'm just going with a slip-on, but tell me which ones yall like and why. Also what jetting are yall using. Thanks

I ended up getting the fmf powercore 4 with the fmf powerbomb header, I like it alot. There is very little difference in hp between pipes maybe 2 at most. It depends on how much you want to spend, If I did it again I would probably go with Sparks and then HMF or Yosh.

I had a white brothers E series slip on, on my first 400 and no probs. Good sound and tune-able.

White brothers and HMF seem to be very popular.

E-series. I had it and it was good but the welds broke.

In my opinion, HMF is the best buy. The low end power gain and deep tone make it a great purchase. With the quiet core installed it's quiet enough not to offend the tree huggers. You can find them for sale from the mid to lower $200.00 range.

I love my E-series but I wish I would have bought a HMF.

This is the setup real men run! I had a Yoshi RS-3 before it, which are legendary for their low end punch...and this LTE just puts it to shame. And I know Yoshi is better than HMF. I had a dyno of one for a 400EX and Yoshi was better than HMF, but not by much.

Like I said in my other post, I will never go back to a single exhaust again...:macho

I would'nt spend no $700 on an exhaust, thats highway robbery, the LTE is a good setup it's just to expensive.

I don't see the difference. Let's give an example of a:

Sparks Exhaust. Brand new = $549

Yoshi RS-3 Brand New = $539

Duncan Fat Boy 4 Brand New = $559

Hmm Now lets look at LTE.

LTE Exhaust and Aluminum airbox = $700. So deduct $200 for the aluminum airbox, you ONLY spend $500 on the exhaust, so it comes out CHEAPER than the Sparks, Yoshi, and Duncan, which are all by far the best exhausts. So you cant justify spending $500 for a full exhaust?!?!?!

Please explain....

hey chin chilla i see you finally got black rear plastics it looks great

Yea but you can't deduct $200 from LTE exhaust cus you need the air box with their setup so it's still $700 you spend. If if you were to buy any exhaust other than the LTE you would save $200.

SO then why does UM offer airboxes to relocate the battery even though they don't have dual exhausts? You certainly can deduct that 200. It is like buying a dual exhaust and getting an airbox at the same time. Go anywhere else, buy and exhaust and an aluminum airbox and you are certianly going to spend more than $750. LTE just happens to be better, chaeaper, and offer the same thing...:D

If you tact on $200 for an air box for any other exhaust then yes the LTE is cheaper. Just wondering where you got those prices from? I thought the yoshi pipe was over $650

I think the new Yoshi's are about $650, the titanium RS-7's. I got these off JOEX, for less than half the price of new. Let's just say I got one AMAZING deal....

Also those prices are off the top of my head, but they are pretty close...

Chin_Chilla I guess your right about the LTE exhaust it's pretty much the same as the others with or without the airbox. I guess you know your exhaust systems.

I guess when it comes to exhausts I better shut my pipe cus I don't know much about them.

I remember you wanting to go with a different color scheme for your 400. Did you ever get started on that?

Chin -

I may have to look at that LTE exhaust. I think it might be the finishing touch on my rebuild.

Is it USFS approved with spark arrestors?

Chin_Chilla

Yes they have little mesh inserts that are USFS approved. They also come with quite cores and the aluminum airbox. Hopefully you can return that UM you got, wouldnt wanna hear you had to buy 2 airboxes...lol

I could'nt agree with you more Chin_Chilla, Yea I want to do a total make over on my quad but I hit a really big snag, i'm having problems trying to tell my mom that I want to make over my quad but I don't know how to tell her, I do this so in the long run she does'nt bother me about it. I need idea's how to tell her, anybody got any?

My make over is gonna be called " Project Black Widow"

About the make over I planed on getting a powdercoated frame from Pappy then buying the following parts

+3+1 Eyeball Eng A-arms (long travel)
Works Black Widow Shocks
Black Plastics
LSR Axle
Hiper Wheels
Attack Graphics
and some other powdercoated things, too many items too list.

If you want to know more shoot me a PM

Sounds like an awesome build!

If I remember right, AtVrIDah or something like that has a black quad called black widow...lol. He's from LV.

I think I talked to him before that's how I got the idea, so it's kind of his name I just borrowed it. If I can get the build done I'm gonna switch it to "The Widow"
