250X kickstart on 300EX

I just bought a 300EX and got a 250X motor throw in and want the kickstart on the 300. Will it bolt right on the 300? Can I take it off the 250 and install using the parts and side case? Any tricks or is this a straight forward swap? Thanks

I "heard" it can be done but you know how that goes.i have never did it myself but have thought about it.I think the cases have to be split though.

I know that on my yamaha TTR 225 the kit is simple to install, but you do have to take the clutch off.

i don't think its a bolt on swap. the oiling is different in the side covers and i don't think the 300 has the idler shaft in it for the kicker idler. and you have to split the cases to put that in. call tc racing he used to do it.

No go team, you have to use all the parts from the 250 then split the cases on the 300, machine the case . . .it can be done but not an easy install.

I was gonna do it to our 300ex. But when we put it back together i forgot to put in the parts to make it a kicker lol. Oh well maybe someday if the engine has to be split again ill do it. Its not as hard as you think.

I know this is kinda old but if its not as hard as we think can you please be more specific, I wanna do it if I can cuz Im about to assemble a 300ex.
