It will fix your cold starting, if your quad is stock then you don't need a 42, too rich. Get a 40 and turn your fuel screw out 1 and 1/2 of a turn.

You can buy at www.jetsrus.com

FMF power core slip on
K&N air fillter no air box lid
170 main jet
needle is on the second clip
and a 38 pilot.......

and im running rich still even after adjusting the fuel screw...
im droping it down to a 165 but i still think i need a 42 pilot...

your gonna be rich even with a 165 put in a 160 and it should be better but still get the 42 pilot that will help with the cold starting.

Honda#4 is right 160K main jet, 42K pilot jet, Clip on 3rd slot down on the needle, and fuel screw 2 1/2 turns out from lightly seated. That's about as close as I can recommend. You'll have to test run it from there.
You'll spend less than $10.00 on jets at www.jetsrus.com

Thanks for the backup Hornet. Jetting is a regular job on this site , I think I should start up a quick refernence jetting thread.

With a 170K main jet installed I bet you foul a plug less than a week. That's way too rich even for the cold temperatures you're talking about. Perhaps a 162K on the high end but, even that might be kind of high as well.

Try a 160, 162.

I'd put the needle back into the middle position.

I had a WB e-series slip-on with K&N, lid on and 150 main 38 pilot and stock needle position. Ran the same plug for more than 2 years.

160K should be almost spot on. You might need to go up or down a size but, I'm certain you'll stop fouling your spark plugs.
JOEX is right, put you clip on the 3rd slot down on the adjustable needle too.

Everyone must remember, temperature plays a huge part in any jetting discussion.

A quad jetted for a 160 at 70 deg F will need a 170 at 20 deg F, everything else being equal.

Before my rebuild I was running a 170 main during the summer and it ran great, no fouling. Every engine is different and may have different jetting needs, but temperature is universal and if your jetting does not change with temp changes, then you could be to rich or lean.

Trust me! Start with a 160K. You'll run much better. Like I said before, you may have to go up or down a size but, you'll be close.

Me and hornetgod give about the best jetting refernces on here. Just put in a 160 and and the 42 pilot and that will be close. We would'nt lie to you.

I have a WB slip-on and the powerfilter and I've been running a Dynojet 155 main 42 pilot clip in the forth slot from top and then I adjust my screw for whatever the temp is out, right now I have it jetted for 15 degrees but i've had it jetted as low as -35 degrees and it worked fine with this setup.
