Hey Guys I was wondering if you could help me with a little problem. I have a 88R that I am rebuilding and I want to replace the Front Left Spindle (Knuckle) and I went to service Honda and found the Part Number 51220-HB9-770 for an 88 front left ok but trying to order it and it says that it is Disontinued. I was wondering if I could use a 89 left front knucle and is there any difference between the years to where I could use my hub on it? If not what other Avenues could i go with? Thank you very much for all the help

You can use your 88 hubs on an 89 spindle. But you might want to order the 89 bearing spacer to go into your 88 hub. The 88 spindle has the bearing spacer built into it.

89 hubs are tapered bearings. Other than, exactly the same.

89 hubs are NOT tapered bearings. They (89), use the same bearings as 88, but have a tapered bearing spacer tube, just like 400EX hubs.

I knew something was tapered about them, I thought it was the bearing, oh well, I was partaillly wrong.
