I was just riding my 03 Raptor around the yard and all of the sudden the chain got REALLY loose. I bought this quad as a project so I havent ridden it much at all (just finished it). It seems like the carrier just slid forward.

Are there supposed to be bolts on top of the swingarm to hold the carrier in place? Because they werent there when I bought it. :eek2:

A guy is going to buy this MONDAY! So I need to fix it quick. Are these bolts something I can get at the local hardware store, or will I need to pick them up at my Yamaha dealer?

i just looked at the break down schematic of the swing arm and if I read it correctly you are missing two bolts and some washers in those 2 vacant holes in front of the caliper and the rotor.. But im not 100% familiar with raptors so others will have to chime in but im sure I saw correctly...

yeah, you are missing 2 bolts, that have two nuts on them as well.. goto your local hardware store and get them.

OK thanks. Anyone know what size thread and what length bolts I need? If anyone has a pic of their raptor swingarm that would be awesome.

Yea, those two bolts are the chain adjusting bolts, which explains the free sliding of the carrier..

I went to my local quad shop and they had the bolts in stock. Sold the Raptor tonight for $3,300 cash. :)

Bought it for $2000 and stuck $620 in parts. Plus I put alot of time into it. I made $680 though! I learn something new every time I work on these kind of projects so its well worth it.
