its been like this for a while but, is it ok that when i do wheelies my exhaust hits the ground and my grab bar doesn't?

no! your exhaust will eventually fall off.

You have three options:

1. quit sucking at wheelies
2. get a longer grab bar (or bend yours back into place)
3. get a shorter silencer

Yea that can't be good when your exhaust hits the ground with the force of the quad falling back , plus you on it.

u cant really see it in a picture but its about 1 1/2 to 2 inches. my dad says its fine, ( just cuz he doesn't wanna spend the money on a new one).

i love you pipe, its super nice. just cut 2.5 inches off of it. its really long now, so it wouldnt affect anything. i doubt you could hear a sound difference. or get a gay six pack rack. its deffinitly not good hitting your exhaust off the ground.

he cant...he has a 400ex....and the grab bar is part of the subframe....

they make ones that bolt on to the subframe :D

or just cut off the back part of the subframe and weld some holes to bolt up a 300ex grab bar. thats what alot of people do.

thanx. so to cut it wouldn't i just take the tip off, cut it, and rivit it back on?

CRich[814]

drill out rivits, cut it, rerivit. its really easy and alot of guys have done it.

cutting it is a good idea but i just went to look at my exhaust and the fmf badge is so far towards the tip if i cut enough off to fix it you would only see the mf of fmf. imo that might look tacky.

alot of people tear off the badge and put it back on when they do this too. how is your badge on there? like glued or rivited.

umm ya its not good that your exhaust hits the ground befor your grab bar does beause if you keep doing that then its going to break the welds on your pipe

trx400EXtreme

its glued on there. i guess i could just rivit it on when im done.?.?

man are you serious? obv its not good. unless you want 2 scape your pipe then have it eventually snap off then you can ride it with just a header pipe and that will be ok. it wont burn up your vavles or anything! GET A NEW PIPE ITS NOT GOOD. it may be ok for now but eventually its going to cause you a problem

i would get a new pipe but my dad is one of those dads that spends thopusands on his jeep and cant set aside a couple hundred for a new exhaust for me, and im ony 14 so im pretty much broke till i can get a job.

thats no good then so i guess that means you have to stop doing wheelies till you get a job or you find a way of either not going over or fix it some way

this seriously is a tiny problem. either get a longer grab bar, or just cut the muffler.

ok heres a easy way to fix it. stap 1.put it in first gear pop the clutch and slam the pipe down as hard as you can. 2. repeat step 1. snap it so then dad has to spend money on you haha.

I had an FMF Q on my quad..i hated it..What i did was cut a few inches out of the entry side of the pipe then drilled some new holes and bolted it back together..it was a little bit louder but wasnt a goofy looking and didnt tap the ground any more.

The Q series are stupid long, they look stupid and hit the ground like yours does... I would definatly cut it.
