does a 250r with a 310ct motor in it have good low end power?

yeh it should. all depends on gearing

and if/what its ported for. you can get the 310 ported to have more low end.

Porting plays such a big role in the powerband on a 2 stroke. It can be ported to have no bottom end, and all top end.

pipe, carb and reeds play a big part too. Stiff reeds are good for top end, softer - low end, small carbs-bottom end, big carbs-top end, hi-compression has alot of bottom end, lower compression is for top end(also pump gas), spark timing too. There is many factors, you need to consult a engine builder.

I hear PV's Powervalves give more low end.

they make the power smoother, so that is "snaps" less on you, it is easier to ride. Kinda like a 4 stroke kit for a 2 stroke, but keeps the mid and top end, with a strong bottom end hit, the best of both worlds. I have top end carbs and pipes on my 250r's, but it has a bottom end hit, due to the pv. The pv closes the exhaust port some to "fool" the cylinder to think its at point where it was ported to make power. Most pv cylinders are ported for mid-top and the porting for the exhaust port is modified for the pv to close to fool the exhaust port height of the cylinder, so it makes low end, instead of a mid-top hit that snaps and makes riding it hard.

Its fun to watch friends who aren't used to 2 strokes ride a ported non-PV R, they crap when the powerband hits lol.

Get a PV if you like to play around on your bike still, if all you do is drag then go for a non-PV.
