Allright don't laugh at me, but I can't fit my 18mm socket in the hole to get my spark plug out. I haven't had to change one yet because I did mine when I rebuilt it. I saw the motion pro tool to get in there but is there any other way that you guys know of. I really don't feel like dropping $20 if I don't have to. Once again don't laugh.

find a thin wall socket or u pretty much need the stock tools or an aftermarket one or just get out the grinder and grind down ur socket to fit....

A Craftsman 18MM spark plug socket with 3/8 drive works great once you grind a 1/16 to 1/8th of an inch off the outside diameter. It slides right in and can be turned by hand easily. No need to pull the gas tank or plastics to get it in. It makes starting spark plugs a breeze. No worries of cross threading and with a torque wrench (13 ft lbs/156 inch lbs) no fear of under torqueing and it working loose or worse yet, over torqueing and possibly stripping the theads in the cylinder head. The best thing of all is the socket only cost $5.99 and it's a Craftsman! Here are a couple photos of the end product.

do not buy that motion pro tool. i bought it and it ended up never fitting. your best bet would be to try and find the stock tool kit that came with the quad. they are on ebay sometimes for less then 20 dollars.
