Would I need to get a 1200 watt 2 channel amp to run 2 600 watt amps, or can I can I run a 600 watt 2 channel amp?

do you mean do you need a 1200w amp to run 2 600w subs??

if that is the case all you need is a 2 channel 600w amp. To get the most power out of your speakers you want your amp and your speakers to be equal, in this case 2channel amp, and 2 600w speakers.

Exactly what he said.

Umm, no. It depends on what ohm your subs are and what ohm the amp can handle.

It depends on alot - if your amp can run at 1ohm stable, it will be a different setup than if it can run at 2ohms... Also, i dont care what anyone says - you can make LOUD, or PERFECT SQ (or a mixture of each) with a small amount of power... What really matters 100% is how your box is designed!

Also, overpowering your subwoofers is a better situation than not supplying them enough power for how loud you are playing them... :macho Car stereos are alot of fun, but i got out of the whole deal because it takes up alot of unneccesary room, and it is kind of annoying after awhile.... Good luck.

I wouldnt have to bridge it or cross it over wil I? I will just be able to hook up each of the 600 watt subs into each channel of the amp, right?

Like me and the one guy said it depends on the ohms of the subs and what the amp can handle. I'm in the same boat as him. I was all worried about systems. Then I got into metal and they annoy me now.

yea.. the box is a huge factor in sound.. most people dont have the right box made for the subs..

try to stay with a class D amp and not a high end competition amp if you are gona be using it on a daily basis.. the high end non competition amp is the best to go for daily use.. they last...

also make sure that your subs have their own airspace in the box.. dont let them share airspace.. it makes your subs last longer and sound better..

There are different ohm rating for the amp depending how it's wired.

are the subs dual voice coil? is the amp 1 ohm stable?

if yes to both.. run one sub on the left channel and the other one on the right..

then bridge the subs to itself..

bridge the amp... and make sure the sub boxes have their own airspace..

also make sure you have the right box for your subs.. this is where people lose most of the sound..
