What do you guys think, is cannondale taking over?
It seems like everyday we have more and more riders switching quads to cannondale, In a few years are we going to see everyone riding cannondales?
I believe it can and probably will happen.
Personally i have no problem with it happening they're making some awesome quads and it can only get better!

I think if people wanna mx quad then cannondale is the way to go unlike having to build them up from the ground almost. Like me, by the time mine is a race quad compared to a moto it will be shocks, a-arms, axle, tires, bead locks, swing arm, gusseted frame, $1000 into motor, exhaust pipe, then you gotta get bars, nerfs, kill switch ect and still the moto is still pry gonna be a little better.

theres no way a moto can be better if you build up a 400ex your designing it the way you want. and can choose on buying the best shox or the best whatever, the connondales are great quads but do they really have all of the best products for YOU. and anyone can go out and buy a moto and race but when you hook up your quad it becomes yours, you set it up for the way you ride, why spend 15,000.00 and then not liking the bend of bars or shox or tires then you just have to go out and sped more money to design it the way you like and ride..whatever just my .02

I guess I kinda agree with what your saying but I was just thinking but you do save money by letting them pick the parts and buying them in mass. Personally my dream quad would be a yz450f in a 250r frame and I think I would build one of those over buying a moto440 just so that I can have it done the way I want.

Which is better a fully built sparks 440ex or a moto 440 motor wise?

What about the cannibal (thats the 7K one right?) by the time you put the motor into the EX you will be around 7K and hopefully have the same power as the dale. Then you could do the same on the dale buy, your shocks, a-arms, and all that other stuff.

Or you could buy a used 400ex and build it up and save a lot of money ;)

you can buy built race quads for pretty cheap compared to a moto440 although I would hate to think often those 250r's break down being 15yr's old or around there but i've seen some sweet r's for around 5500 that don't need much at all to be race ready. Same with 400ex's I saw a almost brand new sparks 440ex with pep shocks, it was widened and everything else for 6,500 and looked brand new.

I would just hate to buy a used quad... it's being sold for a reason, and I don't trust anyone when they say they're just selling because they are getting out of racing... most of the time, a month after they sell that quad, they'll be on a new one racing again and the guy that bought it will be broken down at home.

Also, I saw a Speed that had +2 lonestar a-arms, TCS shocks, beadlock rear/rolled edge fronts, Holeshot MX's all around, +4 lonestar axle, nerfs, TAG handle bars, hydro clutch, HMF exhaust w/ moto mapping, steering dampner, and steel braided brake lines front/back, and he said he paid about $10,300 for it (thats including the price of the quad... which was around $7300). That quad is pretty much MX ready and for only 10K (because he got some good deals on parts) and there isn't much that can compete w/ it as far as quads go. The guy still gets beat in the races sometimes but MX is mostly rider. I'm sorry, but if you're going to buy new, I honestly feel that the C-dale is the best way to go, no matter which one you choose.

It's hard to compare the prices of built c-dales to the prices of built EX's if the ex is used. The dales haven't been out long enough, so there isn't a lot of people selling their Dales out there.

Many people are brand loyal, and I understand that, but I happen to be more sport loyal. I love quad racing more than any other sport. I think Cannondale has done more for this sport in a couple of short years than all the other companies together. They have a factory backed race team. They have people at all the nationals to help people with problems, and they have made a superior product. Cannondale has given everbody what they have asked for. A race ready quad that is reasonable, and I applaud them for that and the support they have given this sport. They also have the best customer service around right now. Cannondale Corp. will not stand for less than excellent customer service, and that means a lot to me after owning a Yamaha Craptor.....peace...

400ex is great for trails, I just hate having to shift so much on an mx track, that REALLY slows you down.

Run a 15/36 gearing it will cut your shifting way down..

Ok now on with the C-dale taking over. I don't think there gonna take over but they will sell a ton of quads. the C-dales are impressive and will sell themselves. I've had some seat time on the quadshops Blaze and it flat out kicks arse,,,it is a handful when you crack the throttle and hold it wide open. The handling was great and I think jeff is tryin to sell me on one of them fancy things..

that only makes the gears taller though not wider so it doesn't help much at all.

taller gearing = less shiftin because the gears are streched out farther dude, lol

i totaly agree, the dales are for MX and the 400ex "out of the box" is a great play/trail bike. if you want to do racing your looking at a lot of money. the reason i didn't buy a dale, raptor, or banshee is because i pretty much trail ride. i plan to maybe get a 416 kit and a cam and stuff, but i don't need it. i just like to be able to come close to scaring my self sometimes hehe. admitidly i've not scared my self of the 400 yet. but i love it, i've never regreted buying it. but i know that if were to get into MX i would definatly go with a built 250R or a dale, hands down. well a 400 with a CRF450 or a YZ motor...but out of the box the dale is owning the MX market, and they probably will for a while. big companys really don't change their main products often, especialy honda. yamaha and zuki/kawi have always been about the most HP out of the displacement, and just the bigest and the "best". of course they're not always the best. honda is more geared for something that has adequate power and supurbe reliability. as we all know thats what honda has built their legacy on.

but yes, i agree dale's own the MX market for a near race ready or race ready quad.

The he11 it doesn't,,,, I can tell a huge difference in running a 36 in the back over a 38,,,,I hate running the 15/38 on a mx track anymore..
