yeah guys i need some help with my mower. i was going to go out a plow some snow, and i went to turn the key and it won't start. it turns over real slow then stops and it keeps doing that. i charged the battery and still nothing. i went and got a new battery and that didn't help either. i currently have the new battery on a battery tender to try to warm it up. did i mention that it is about 8 degrees here. i pulled the plug and cleaned it and checked to see if i was getting a spark and that is all good. anybody have any ideas? thanks

Most lawn mowers have a pull rope on them. you may have to pop the hood open to get to it. try that

well yeah no pull rope. it is prolly just too cold for it to turn over with the oil being thicker from the cold weather.
put it someplace warm then try again.

Im gonna bet on a bad connection or bad wire. Check the large wire going from the battery to the starter solenoid and make sure all the connections are clean. Then check the wire going from the - post on the battery to the ground on the frame.

My ariens does that also. It doesn't turn over fast enough to start it when it's really cold. Pull the plug and give it a short shot of wd-40 or some equivelant lubricant and crank it a few times. It will luve the cylinder walls up. Put the plug back in and it should turn over much faster. That always worked for us.

Or take a heat gun and warm up the oil..............we do it all the time on the race cars. ;)
