3000gt help/questions

[Honda TRX250ex]

I am going to go look at a 1995 Mitsubishi 3000gt. Are these good cars? The guy wants 5500 for it and it has a rebuilt engine by healys brother (car dealer) and a newer tranny with about 30,000 miles on it. The body has about 130 thousand miles on it. He told me that the only thing wrong with it is that the front bumper dont line up right because he took it off and couldent get it lined back up and he said that the lights need to be cleaned. Do you guys think it is worth it? heres some pics

my friend had a yellow one of those and that thing got it. his was completly stock too. he paid like 2800 for his but the seats were all ripped and like i said it was dead stock, really dirty too. id say 5200-5500 is a pretty good price.

My friend in school got one of those, no idea on the year but I thnk he got it for somewhere around 4200. It looks exactly like that too...thought it was his at first:eek2:

3000gt's are good cars. My best friend(pretty much brother) has one its a red one just like that. it is a very nice car and its pretty fast.

that wouldnt be bad. 300gts are really hard to find in good shape these days.

The parts on the car are expensive. If anything goes out in it, expect to pay. It looks like it has been wrecked in the front. I am not an expert but when things don't line up it is usually broke or has been wrecked. It looks like it has been ragged out pretty good. I wouldn't spend that kind of money on it. Just my opinion.

Weak drive train......gearbox & universals. My bet is if it has a new box then it will blow the uni joints next.

those cars are slugs if there not the vr-4s...they weigh to much...i wouldnt pay that much for the car...you could get a nice lexus for 5500...not only do bumper not line up it looks like theres a gap between the headlights and hood....might have been in a fender bender

that's cuz everyone that owns one these days beats the hell out of it.

they are alright cars, but for the money there are definitely faster and nicer cars out there.

I'd lok into a mid 80's BMW. You can get em for less than that and wil last longer.

me and my friends have owned many bimmers that have ran well ito the 500k mil range. The I-6's are more reliable than the 4 bangers tho. and the insurance on a bimmer would be less too. just my .02

sorry but all that front end crap not allighning looks like it might have been in a crash and he tried to fix it himself, and not spend the money on a body shop. pop the hood and see if there is any stress bends in the core support or rad..

Average retail for one in excellent condition is $5,100. That one is a turd. It has wrecked and abused. I would pass if I were you. Just my $.02, but there are better deals out there.

The back seat looks well worn too, usually a sign of overloading and abuse.

unless your going to get a VR-4 save your money and get a 3rd gen integra with a 5 speed. and if you want to put up a fight with a VR-4 get an Integra GSR with a 5 speed. im also bias since i got my integra.:devil:

i looked at that car in meadville... i wouldnt give 5500 for it at the most 3500... how do you know it has had the engine replaced?? with out receipts.. and even then youdont know how many miles are on the engine... or how many hard miles he put on it.. at 136k it should still have the stock motor in it...

Please just step away from all mitsu's and get the 240sx in your sig. Or just get a older s13 for $900 (i got 2 for $700 and $900) slap a $2000 full sr20det swap and run mid 13's bone stock all day long with one of the cheapest insurance's you can get.

Yeah i made my desision im not going to get it. It was in a accident and he wont go lower then 5500. Thanks for all of your help
