My friend has a 04 Outlander 400 and his Voltage Regulater is bad.His Dealer told him that they have replaced a bunch of these units. Bombardier wont do anything about it even though it has very few miles.Has anyone else had the same problem??

I also have a 2004 Outlander with a toasted VR. Does the VR you got from eshindengen (sh678wc) work ok on your outlander? Also, my connector into the VR got melted slightly on one side. The connector to the VR looks like some type of standard connector. What kind of connector is it and where can I get one? Thanks!!!

I had an early 04 and an 05 400 Outy. The 05 I just sold to a friend. Three weeks later the vr went bad so I called a dealer close to his home, not the dealer that I bought it from, gave them the vin# to check the warranty, and its good till 6/08. He said its covered and he always keeps a few vr's in stock. So have your friend make an appointment. Dont know if it would be covered if the warranty ran out.

He already bought the VR and relocation kit.I guess the dealer had switched ownership since he bought his so they wouldnt cover it.I still feel that Can-Am should have covered it, they obviously knew that there was a problem with the placement of these VR and should have done a recall. They are forcing the customer to fix a flaw that they had engineered.

The dealerships should cover this under warranty . Our dealership does.
