were i live things rust very easy and i was told to spray bolts and entire engen with wd-40 to prevent rust and keep things clean?does anyone do this?were i ride is very dusty will this make it harder to clean since the dust will stick to the wd-40.well thanks.oh ya if so is there anywere i dont want to spray?mahalo

it is perfectly fine to spray your engine with wd-40. once it runs it burns off anyway, but when it is just sitting around it will keep it from rusting. i use wd-40 on the whole quad and mud sticks less because the wd-40 lets it wash off easier.

it sounds crazy but, i use liquid tire shine and even heard of using pam cooking spray.

Use WD 40. I spray the whole quad wipe it off and it looks good and protects it. When you first start it up it will stick for a min or 2 but it quit.

I spray the whole quad in it and do the chain as well - no problems at all

I think this ? has been on here before and I remember someone saying it was ok, I also remember them saying not to do it if the quad was just going to sit. WD-40 has some ingredient in it that if left on metal for a long time and is exposed to oxygen, it can actually cause rust. I think he did it by accident to his rear axel.
