06 air box, air boot and carb on 05

I have heard of people putting the 06 air box air boot and carb on there 05 TRX's. I have all the stuff needed to put it on but there seems to be some allignment issues. I was wondering what needed to be done or if I'm just a retard and it hasn't been done at all and I wasted my money on this setup.

Are you running the stock carb or an FCR. I dunno if that would make any difference, just a thought. What kind of alignment issues are you having?

it doesn't line up. the carb hits the bottom of the gas tank, the air box doesn't line up to the carb. but the air box bolts right up. u can do some modin to the air box boot to get it to line up with the carb. as for the gas tank i have started to get that to work, just haven't had time to finish it yet. be patient and take your time if you mod them.

The CRF carb will fit under the gas tank , not sur about the alignment issues for the boot but ill check this out this weekend.

My only issue is that the air boot is too short. I'm just going to scrap the 06 box and boot and get the Noss adapter and use the 05 air box set up. As for the carb not fitting under the tank that has plenty of room on mine.

my carb is hitting on the bottom of the gas tank. I c your bike is 05, mine is 04. Is there a difference in tanks between these years? I am using the 06 trx 450r carb.

I got a cfr450 fcr carb, and the 06 airbox and boot on my and no problems, everything is fine on mine.

We works on this bike yesterday, the 06 air box, 06 tube and CRF FCR carb , is the worst fit ever...

Nothing line up , the hole on the sub frame dont fit the air box... and the angle of the tube dont work with the carb without modification...

Please buy a noss adapter

What boot are you using to go from the head to the carb. I have the 06 but I was wondering if there was any other options.

I used my 04 boot, but I am using a CRF carb, not the TRX. It fit perfect, but the airbot is moved forward about 1/4" from the mounting holes.
