Hey guys, just wanted you all to know that after wanting a quad for a while, my brother in law finally took the plunge and bought a 86 250R. We already started tearing it down. the frame, swing arm, and stem are at the powdercoaters as we speak. He also joined this forum, his name is NJD. anyways, here some pics so far.......

I'll get some more pics, but here she is without any plastics. We got lucky, the quad was in decent shape, the frame was in great condition!

Looks like a good starter project. What color is the frame going to be? Also wondering if you were going to do anything to the motor or not. i am in the same boat with one of mine. I dont know what i am going to do to the motor now that i have the rest of the quad lookin all good.

he wants to do the frame in gloss black, a arms, stem, and swinger in gloss red. it should look saweet! the motor is ported and polished, new crank, and rod, and this week we are putting in a new clutch. the cylinder was just sent out a little while ago to east coast atv by the previous owner, and when we test rode it, this R was fast as hell!! I was really impressed with the power.
