little brother's first build

well right now we are working on my little brother first build. he is using his motor and parts, changing exhaust, having his works redone, LSR arms, g force axle, using my gusseted 400ex frame that was left over after i built my hybrid, and tires, and lots of PC'ing and stuff to make it look good....he is only 14 and its coming along nicely, i playing a BIG part in putting it together but he is learning and hopefully next time i can jsut watch.

wrinkle black = frame, sub, lower arms, swingarm, oiltank, motormounts
yellow = upper arms, hubs, springs, peg things, tie-rods.
gloss black= bumper, nerfs, grab bar, middle springs, stem,
polished or chrome = wheels, pipe, heat shield, bar mounts, axle


much more was done or is being done. so enough talk lets get to the pics

here it has the electronics, oil tank, rear brakes, and exhaust and we also set the plastic on top just to get a glimpse pf how she'll look.

Any idea how much money was spent on the powder coating? I'm gonna being doing almost the same stuff with the frame I got off you, Just looking for a ball park....

just a hair over 300 for pcing, keep in mind some stuff was already coated that we are using off my old 416, that frame your getting off me could have been coated for like 150 extra, i didnt even think to ask ya if you wanted it done

it has the hmf, ground out stock headpipe, ehs lid, stage 1 hotcams, when he gathers up some more cash itll atleast be a 11:1 JE .08 over piston (416) and maybe a little head work

its pretty snappy for a 400 but its not near what my 416 motor was but it should turn out better on the low-end when we are done my 416 liked to be reved this one will like to be lugged a gear high

lil update, i finally got my crf sorted out, fixed, and back going so i finally had some time to wrench on his now that we got our parts from pappy back, i gotta go pick up the bottom arms today prolly and then we will have everything

i finished up the rear end, carb, airbox, all the lines (and oil), all the electrical, finished assembling the shocks, all thats left is bolting on the plastic, frontend, and the rear shock...

btw pappy the yellow is perfect and the shocks' springs look awesome (i bet someone will copy my idea about getting the pegs out of the proarmors PC'd)

one more, should have it sitting on the ground tonight and running.... then he has to clean it up for some good pics before he can ride it......talk about torture

finished up ecept i cant put the LSR front end on there becasue i dont have Lower arms PC'd yet due to someone kept putting me off but now im sending those to pappy and then ill get teh front end put on there.

i gotta put oil in it and put the airfilter in there, then slip the rear plastic on and we are done.

tomorrow ill have pictures of it in the light and you can see the yellow match rather than the glare in the pics
