I have a 400 EX stock, the sticker on the frame says 20W50, I was wondering if anyone is using any other oil than the 8 dollar a Qt. "special" oil honda sells? synthetic iswhat im really interested in

I also know that any oil with a friction modifier is bad for the wet clutch.

also this quad is opperated in 110 deg F ( arizona )

Thanks

You will definitely want a good synthetic wet clutch safe oil. Everyone is going to have a different opinion on here on which oil to use, but I would use at least a 10-40, if not the 20-50 you said already for those temperatures. I run klotz 10-40 myself.

Amsoil synthetic 10w40 used it couple months after it was new, I have a 2000 400ex, motor bone stock, motor never touched, except valves adj and clutch....doesn't smoke and works 100% so I would have to say Amsoil all the way ... 7 Years of abuse should be proof enough...lol
