Can anyone tell me if the 428 chain will work on a predator 50? It has 428H on the links of the chain that broke but the polaris shop does not have. However, they do have a 428 in stock and think that it will work. Does anyone know for sure or not so that i dont waste my time or $$$? Thanks, JR

You can run any 428 chain, if that is the chain that fits your quad. The letter just tells you the type. The H probably means it's heavy duty. The plain 428 doesn't have the tensil strength of the 428H, which means it would break easier.

428H is a "heavy duty" version of the 428 chain which is just a wider version of the 420 chain. The 428H has 15-20% thicker side plates over the standard 428 chain. It wont stretch as much as regular 428 which is good and bad.
Since it won't stretch as much it won't chew up gears and try to climb out of the sprockets as easily. GOOD
Since it won't stretch as much it puts more load/pressure on the pins that are the same as 420/428. BAD
It also weighs a little more but not alot.
