I say go for a JE piston, but it depends on how much money you want to spend. JE isn't really cheap, Wiseco is cheap. I suggest 12:1 compression if you want to use half mix of race fuel and premium pump fuel. You'll need HD Studs, HD Timing chain (crf chain works fine) and I suggest a hotcam.

That's what I run run. I don't, however, run a HD Studs or timing chain. I have only ruin one timing chain in 6 years over the life of 2 quads.
