So does your friend have a criminal record now?

DId they take him away in cuffs?

How's that gonna work out for him on a job interview, if he has a criminal record?

And BTW, good job posting the evidence to convict him on the internet.

calm down copper...i have no disrespect for the cops...as a matter of a fact when the cops crashed the party i actually helped them toat ronald outside...i in no way said it was right...but funny...you were young and dumb once...so what its something he might have to live with for the rest of his life but everybody controls their fate of their own lives...if he decides he wants to go to jail over a 3,000$ Ronald McDonald....hes gotta live with it..not you, not me, or anybody else on this forum, for that matter anyone else in my area

great point... and i dont really get why people have to make such a big deal about it when it doesn't directly involve them in any way whatsoever... i mean seriously if i wanted to go out on a spree of breaking windows out of cars and stealing everything in them thats up to me not anyone else, if i get caught and thrown in jail for 10 years and fined thousands of dollars guess what... thats all on me, it was my own decision and i would have to face the consequences... i've had plenty of what the hell was i thinking moments, nothing to serious yet surprisingly but many were extremely stupid and i now look back and laugh....

NOT that I wish you ill.

Cuz if you think its cool to steal MCD's property, you prolly also think its cool to steal MY property.

Which I would not advise. In fact I would STRONGLY advise against it.

I'm also guessing the pic in question is proof of underage drinking.

Just a guess...

im guessing you were the one in highschool that stared at the books all day long and never once thought about doing a prank.......... i call this more or less a prank, no one got hurt, it was funny and im sure people were laughing when they saw ronald was missing. this is not a 1st degree felony. No need to dig deep into everything just relax. I've had several things stolen from me and this is no way offends me like it does you. for some reason i've seen alot of your posts and honestly you've *****ed more than i can count on some pointless threads. if you don't like it don't post just keep it to yourself. it makes it go alot more smoothly and without all of us acting like 6 year old kids whining over a toy.

So if someone steals YOUR quad, that's just a "prank" to you?

Answer teh question....YES or NO.

Cuz I guarantee you that Ronald cost about as much as your average ATV.

Actually, its 6 year olds that could steal something and think its no big deal.

And for reference purposes, I don't t really care what you think of my posts. Not even a little. I'm not on here looking for internet friends, or to be the life of the party. Well, at least not among the grand larceny crowd.

Actually, it is a felony, and usually carries a jail sentence.

Grand larceny is typically defined as larceny of a significant amount of property. In the U.S., it is often defined as an amount valued at $200 or more. Grand larceny is often classified as a felony with the concomitant possibility of a harsher sentence.

Why would it be wrong for someone to steal your quad, but its OK to steal Ronald? Are you OK with MCD "making sure they got hurt" if someone tried to steal a Ronald, like you said you'd do to someone stealing your quad?

Why is stealing Ronald just having fun, but stealing a quad BS?

Get a clue, son.

And your WRONG I said NOTHING about job security.

i've found you enjoy the attention to much of posting on here and love to here yourself, i guess me posting just gave you more reason to post again. and it is NOT a 1st degree felony like i said.... read. he will more than likely get off with a misdemer. no need to argue with you anymore you know it all i will bow down to you from now on. i will end on this i love to hear people think they know it all. you can think what you will you have your own thinking on this and i have mine you will not change how i feel and i will not change how you feel. you will nor change anyone else's feeling on this subject by posting here so i can only conclude that you like to see yourself whine or love to argue either or its a little childish. either way your thinking i would see everyone and there brother should be in jail right now if it were up to you. and what i said about 6 year old's again i said we are acting like it. you have a good day now i will leave you alone to handle the others.

like to say sorry for the owner of the thread as it has turned into a bickering thread now might as well delete it if you want to save the greif of hearing how horrible you are.:)

Again, the ONLY six year old aspect of this is people who would NOT want their quad stolen, but think its cool to steal a Ronald McDonald from Mickey D's.

That's just immature and childish.

This really is senseless, but I can't help responding....

Yes, there is plenty of room in the prisons. I don't give a dayum if they sleep standing, in tents, hot bunk, whatever. If our soldiers can sleep in ditches and holes while being shot at, than prisoners, who should have less rights, will never, ever, ever have my sympathy. The guards, yes. I do not envy their jobs.

I said something about job security. As long as their are people in this world that view vandalism and theft as funny and harmless, I will have a job. Reality check genuis: It is against the law. We don't care if you had fun or not. We'll have more fun telling our buddies, and wives at home, (while you sit in jail) what kind of dumb ***** morons we picked up tonight. Live it up, enjoy it, have a blast - steal while being recorded on CCTV - to steal a line "We never close!"

Yeah, we've all done dumb things, and laughed, or cried, depending on how it turned out.... but a man (boys in this case) that brags about his stupidity.... he deserves no break.

No, you (hypothetically) damaged what is YOURS. Which you are free to do.

News flash genius - that Ronald is NOT yours. You are NOT free to do with it what you will.

I'll be by to steal your quad while you are in junior high school classes.

And I don't want to hear you whining about it when its gone. Cuz in giving the Ronald thief a pass, you give me a pass to steal what's yours.

And just for giggles, I might steal your mattress as well.

But if you think stealing Ronald is a prank, then you MUST LOGICALLY also allow me to steal your quad.

Of course you did. Don't play stupid. You been glorifying this thing the whole time.

The Ronald ONLY got into your living room BECAUSE someone stole it.

If you were behaving like an adult, you would have told your friend to take it back, that you would not benefit from (nor aid him in) his illegal activity.

Legally, you are an accessory to grand larceny after the fact, and should (and likely will) be charged with a crime yourself, genius.

Way to post pics and incriminate yourself. REAL bright, dude.

Yes, and I've learned from it the hard way, and I'm offerring you a better way, to learn from my mistakes. NOT yours.

And for that terrible thing I'm trying to do, I get "STFU" and other responses of negligible intelligence.

Well, congratulations....your first forray into the criminal world is quite a leap....accessory to grand larceny after the fact. YOur momma will be SOO proud...

i dont see how some moron can say his decision to steal ronald effects you...how does it effect you...you and your kid cant see the big smiling gay clown when you pull in MCD to buy your kid a happy meal..

Cuz a world where people laugh and get a kick out of grand larceny affects ALL us law abiding people... we gotta stick together AGAINST those kind of people

i dont agree with stealing road signs because ive seen people be killed due to another stealing a stop sign and they run thru the intersection w/o stopping and getting plowed by oncomming...

And I asked you a question....

"Is theft OK anywhere no one will get physically injured? "

And I'm asking it with your quad in mind. Enquiring minds want to know your opinion of what kinf of theft is OK..

What's the total $$$ loss for your friend, including the meal and the truck? What? About $6.00???

That justifies him stealing what I'll estimate is a $2,000 statue? Or two counts of felony assault? Your friend and his family sound like real loons (or at least big talkers) . You can tell them I said so.

If I were you, I'd get me one LESS friend, cuz that loon's gonna bite you in the butt eventually.

Do you think the 39 year old doing a seven year stretch in federal prison for grand theft auto PLANNED to be there when he was 18?

Or do you think maybe some lesser bad choices when he WAS 18 set him on a path that led him to the federal pen?

I think that's a pretty obvious question.

There's a snowball effect to life. And from the way you describe it, his family is NOT gonna help this kid start making better choices (not when his g'father recommends he go commit felony assault. Apparently his g'father isn't aware some of us carry concealed firearms, and if "you" attack us for a cup of water spilled on your truck, "you" may pay dearly)

The fact is TC, to be a REAL friend, YOU need to help him make better choices NOW.

So instead of encouraging him in his illegal activity, go be a friend to him.

A REAL friend. Who cares about more than what produces a few laughs.

I am really glad that I fell upon this thread.

My dad works at a place that makes the interiors of many popular food chains and other stores such as McDonalds, Starbucks, etc. Back in the '90s they made a few hundred of those fiberglass Ronalds and also a few hundred KFC Colonel Sanders ones where he is sitting on a bench. So every time my family sees one of these statues we make a point of it to each other. That pic has to be one of the most bazzar ones that I have seen with Ronald!

By the way - Those statues, when they were made, were sold for $25,000+!:p

The situation described involves felony assualt.

Trust me...I know what my legal rights are with regard to concealed carry, use of deadly force, etc.

No jury in the world would convict me.

And the ill advised attacker would be dead....all over a $6.00 meal at MCD's.

THAT is stupid.

Of course, all this is hypothetically speaking.

There you go.... morons in this thread are asserting the loss of a $6.00 meal justifies stealing a $25,000 piece of property.

This thread REALLY has turned out to be a gem.

well i would have to say that would be one screwed up jury not to convict someone of murder after they killed someone because they were afraid they might get some bruises and couldn't just defend themselves and press charges afterwards. Now if this were some monstrously large man or an incredibly well trained fighter who really could easily kill you with his hands i could understand pulling a gun but to do it under the previously mentioned circumstances is just plain cowardly

$25,000 thats ridiculous its gotta cost like a few hundred at the most to make one of those things

Its not murder, its self defense.

Your knowledge of the law of self defense is as abysmal as your knowledge of the law of grand larceny.

Well, the guy said his family made and sold them. Seems like he would know.

Besides, $3,000 is still definitely grand larceny, which is a felony, and can carry prison time in state prison.

Think you friend will be laughing as you visit him in the joint?

We joke about that, but that's how the REAL world works.

The costs of theft, vandalism, staged slip and falls, on site security guards, and all other kind of crap you get when dealing with the general public is NOT just soaked up by the business.

It gets passed on to the customer.

Or the business owners just figgers "Who needs this $^%& ?" and he closes his business.

Making them wasn't the problem. It was the cost of a custom mold. Those molds were over a couple hundred thousand dollars each (one for Ronald, Colonel Sanders, and a few others) - (I can't give you an exact number because that was a while ago). Then you have to factor in labor, materials costs, utilities, shipping, and being able to turn a profit.

Although I don't remember the cost of the molds, I do remember that those statures were around $25g.

You display your ignorance with most every post you make.

Like the guy said .... the molds cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to make , and the molds are useless after the production run. So the manufacturere has to recoup that cost when selling the statues.

I was guessing $10,000 for each one, but went with $2,000 to be safe.

But no, $25,000 sounds about right.

Sorry guys, the "cop power" has not gone to my head as much as you would like to think. Its basic common sense that separates me from you, this is what gives the impression of power or arrogance. I'm right, I know this, the law and society support and agree with me. Your justification for this childish act is just that, childish - and immature. Your justification for posting on the internet - again, childish and immature. Arguing with adults that have decades of experience and years of education far surpassing your own, that are trying to point out some of the flaws in your behavior and reasoning - childish and immature.

I don't, and have never, condone police or anyone else that hide behind their authority or use it to impress or intimidate others.

It would be a grave mistake to think that officers not uniform are fair game for retaliation. We expect it.... nuff said.

As for the far fetched internet lawyers arguing over assault, felonies or classes of crime - save yourself the embarassment, its different in every city, state and county in the country. What the DA or ADA decides to do is different, what is bound over to grand juries is different and what is legally defensible in one state can land you behind bars in another. CCW's are different, who can shoot who, when and where is different.

In all reality this thread has amused me more than anything. Generally I view any arguing over the internet as a waste of time, but this is irresistible. The guys getting the most wound up are the ones who know they are wrong - embarassment and reality flooding in can do that too you. It's OK guys, we know you may not be Rhodes Scholars, far from it in fact. The whole point is this, yeah, it was funny, I have no problem admitting that! It's one of the dumbest, funniest criminal acts I've seen - A prime candidate for the "Dumbest Crooks" book! Congratulations, you have won a spot as one of America's funniest dumb*****es - whatever. Just learn from it, if at all possible, and try not to encourage your little buddies.... they don't need your help.
