Today at the track my clutch was slipping prety bad and pissing me off majorly.

So for a quick fix some guy told me to take washers off spark plugs and put them between the pressure plate and the clutch springs. They would add tenson on the springs. shure enough they fit. I went around the pits asking everyone for old spark plugs. Them suckers actualy worked to. I could not believe it. they where the EXACT right size.

that's pretty neat. I may have to try that when I replace my clutch to keep it strong :eek2:

i dont think doing it to a fresh clutch would be a good idea, you dont really need the extra pressure, it may just wear it quicker, i think this is a trick to get your clutch to work a little linger when its starting to go

If the clutch is slipping, and everything is adjusted properly. It needs replaced--not a band-aid.

Sometimes a band aid will get you home.

Yup,
Sometimes you don't have a spare set of fibers & plates sitting around at the track. ;)

My favorite use for old sparkplugs my grandfather taught me.

When fishing if you get your hook snagged, crimp the electrode wnd down over the line so it slides.. and let her go. It will travel down the line (zip cord sytle), and knock the hook loose. Works like a charm.. lol.

Good trick! I'll have to remember that!

ya the plug on the line works great! when we fish in the ozarks for crappies, we fish alot of brush and keep plenty of old sparkplugs nearby.
