I want to know if anyone else has the same problem I do.. I have broken 4 tie rodes and have a 2 go comlplete bad in the last 6 months. I really don't know what to do.. Is there any other tie rides that are better..

I like the way hondas tie rods are set up. I wonder if I could get them to work?

you can get yamaha tie rods that are a similar style and strength to honda tie rods. I know ricky stator sells tie rods that are advertised to be alot stronger than the stock yamaha ones.

Stock Honda and Yamaha tierods both bend easy. Find some that are made out of chromoly or stainless.

Out team consists of 5 450Rs and we usually pick up tie rods in 6 packs for a big weekend race. They bend probably even easier than yours. These are 450R ones Im talking about. I never had a problem with my 400ex ones though.

You haven't really gotten a chance to ride a 450R yet then have you? I've bumped quite a few things on my 400, nothing too hard though and it held up good. Our 450R's are rediculous. My buddies have come off after a moto and we've had to straighten tie rods even when they didn't hit anything!! Just regular motox and not bumping or railing anything and they're bent. Every moto they needed to be straightened sometimes.

I've raced my buddies 450r at about 7 or 8 races with stock a arms and tie rods and haven't bent any. But if I got it in the woods I probably would. When I bent them on my 400 it was usually from tapping logs, trees or stumps.

Didn't have enough time on my yfz with the stock tie rods to bend any.

I dont know what it is, or maybe my guys just all have bad luck which wouldn't surprise me... but honestly we had to mount a vice in our trailer (which we could have used anyways) just for straightening tie rods, and we always had about 10 spares for the 4 of us who usually race.

not sure what year your Yamaha is but you should look at upgrading to the 06 or 07 tie rods and ends. They are much better than the 05 and under set up. Sometimes its good to have weak point in there, you really dont need really strong tie rods. Last year I bought the biggest set of tie rods I could find thinking that this would keep me from bending any tie rods. Well they never bent, but in a little accident that should have bent $7 tie rod it ended up breaking the ear off of a $150 spindle. I only wish I would have had some oem tie rods them.
