I know this isn't a snowmobile site, but is my favorite forum.... My track came off of my '86 Ski-Doo. To get it back on I had to detach the front part of the suspension. Now I can't get it back in place to bolt up. I am pushing against two springs and it just wont cooperate.

I've never dealt with tracks before and would greatly appreciate the help.

Try tipping the sled on its side with a blanket under where hood/bellypan comes to rest.Pull track out to 45deg angle and it should go in.If that fails you need to diconnect the long end of torsion springs and once suspension is in reconnect. We do it with a long T-handle (4ft)with a 3ft handle and a groove spring fits in on end.Its a bear. Also you have the rear idlerwheels loosened up right.

We used to just squat the rear suspension and tie it down, made it a lot easier putting it back in. Use something like metal wire. That way once its in just snip it and the suspension goes right back to normal.

it is easiest to take the rear suspention bolts out to. and put the front ones in first, then the rear. and have somthing holding the back of you sled up by the bumper.

Thanks for the site and for the help guys. Maybe I will unhook the rear and try that. Nothing has worked so far, so I have nothing to loose.

Oh don't worry about it. I appreciate the help, but don't have time to work on it now anyways. It's just too cold and windy out. I am not looking forward to working outside tomorrow. :(

I have taken the suspention out of a ski doo a million times.

If you can get the front bolts in with the rear still connected im prety shure you will be the first!

I usually pick the back of the sled up by the bumper with a hoist, till the track is just off the ground. You dont need a hoist, heck a piece of wood will work, altho it may come crashing doun.
