View Full Version : 250R long travel shock on 450R

i come across a set of 250R long travel shocks. im sure the front will work but what about the back, will the long travel back shock work with the right linkage.

It all depends on teh shock length if it will bolt up or not, and more than likely even if it will bolt up you will need to revalve it. You need to ask eye to eye length of the shock and what weight and swinger it is set up for now. That would be a good start.

Yes exactly. If it does bolt up which it will if they are the same length, doesn't mean its going to ride great, because its still not valved for the 450s geometry.

Normally I would agree, but if you can get a smokign deal why not? just have them revalved and resprung for his setup, wouldn't you?

unless you ge tthem for nothing its not worth it. it will probably need a new shaft, body, spring, lower clevis and valving. the only left from what your original shock would be the line and ressy.
