so i was looking around for an alternative to buying a trailer and i found this http://www.atvramps.com/atv_carriers.htm

i found an old thread http://www.exriders.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=64950&highlight=atv%2A+carriers and they seem to hold up. what do you guys think about these? my 250r doesnt weigh much and this carrier is 153pds so 500pds on the hitch isn't too shabby. my dad built basket carriers before and they've worked great but never one 4 feet wide. they have an anti-tilt "device" also that looks like it would stop the side to side swaying that a carrier needs. i'm going to make or buy that for my bicycle carrier too.

I had a similar model that wasn't built as strong. It eventually bent so I stopped using it...I planned to get if fixed but ended up moving to NC and didn't have time to mess with it so it went to the dump.

Anyhow, I had a 400ex on mine with a Silverado Crew Cab short bed. I never had an issue with it. The added weight pushing down on the rear tires took away any feeling that it was going to swing the truck around on a turn (this was my biggest concern). I used to put one in the bed and one on this thing and go up and down the mountains in WV.

The one you are looking at looks much beefier. I don't think you will have a problem with it.

let us know how it goes.
