sup guys. Im in the process of building my 440ex. The engine work done by diggin racing is as follows:

440 wiseco piston 11:1
port and polished head
Kibblewhite valves and valve springs
stage 2 hot cam

The exhaust i have on the bike is a curtis sparks exhaust x-6. Im also gonna be running 18's in the back.

So my question is.... what do you guys recommend for the sproket size? What are the stock sproket sizes? Any suggestions would be nice. Thanks

Depending on what year you have but i know the 02 has 15/38 gearing and i want to say the 99 models have 14/38. I thing with the 440 you should have plenty of bottomend to stick with the 15 or even go with a 16 if you really want the top speed.

Yea that is a 15/38 if you want more bottom end drop a tooth in the front and if you want top speed add a tooth to the front its really up to you

I'm running a 15/35 and it's plenty for the 20's and 18's I run. It's a little tall with 22's although I've only taken it for one spin down the road with them on. I have a 14 to try and that will give it about the same ratio as I currently do with 20's.

With the power you're going to make, I can't see going down one tooth in the front because you'll effectively be eliminating the use of first gear, you won't need it because you have the power to start in second. And if you do use first you'll be shifting to second before you move 5 feet. That was true of mine when I had the 18's on.

Now, I care more about the low end than I do about top speed but I can't fathom the idea of even stock gearing with my quad cause it pulls.

Start with what you've got and go from there. I went directly to the 15/35 when I rebuilt my engine so can't help you directly but I've given my opinion.
