i am looking to get some trail/xc tires for my yfz, how do you guys think that 22-7-10 maxxis razr2 fronts will go with 20-11-10 kenda klaw xc, in the rear i am either going with normal razr 20-11-10 or the klaw's anybody tried both brands? i have had razr rears before and i was pretty happy with them, just sorta looking to try something new but if the razrs or klaws are better then i will go with them

thanks

i have the kenda klaw xc and have been very happy with them. ive gone through some nasty terrain with no punctures and have been on a variety of dirt, sand, asphault, etc and have no complaints.

cant go wrong with the klaws

i got them from c and d, yep 6ply, and they hook up great. i ride alot of sandpits and hillclimbs and have no problem putting the power to the ground.

I may be able to help ya here, just my opinion. I had RazrII fronts 22/7/10 and Klaw XCR 20/11/9 6 ply for over a year. That setup worked really good on allot trail riding situations. Now running hare scrambles and fast trail riding, the fronts hook well, but the rears tend to swap and slide a little to much for my liking. I have now switched to Irazr 21/7/10 fronts and Razr 20/11/9 6 ply. Steering is more precise in the front with the smaller tire, don't notice much bump steer or jolting the Precision dampener covers that, but the rears are a whole other beast. The slide more predictable and hook when you want them to coming out of a slide. I would go with Razr rears again when they need replaced. I still have my RazrII and Klaws for practice tires. This is my opinion and everyone will have there own opinion about it. BTW I get all my tires through Rocky Mountain, can't beat there prices and shipping.

Pick yourself up a pair of cheap used 9' stock rear rims. If not then your pretty much limited to tire ply.

I ran my budies 450r with razar tires in the back. That thing was all over the place, slippin and slidin. And lots of spinning in the sand!

I much prefer my kenda claws.
