Personal opinion, but I would set it up as the 450r for woods and the 250r for MX. Reason being is that I prefer the way the power comes in on the 450s for the woods; it is smoother and easier to manuever in the trails the way the chassis is laid out. The 250r would be great for the track with its geometry.

it depends what you want to do with them. if you want to be a competitive racer your not gonna do it with the 250r. i think they both are awsome machines but lets face it, the new 4 strokes pump out way more ponies then the old 2 smoke. there is a guy that races in my series with a 250r in the a class and he is a good rider but he just cant compete.

Yeah, the 250R cant compete with the new thumpers.Jones won a championship on one the last year they were legal to ride them in the pro class.Either one can be setup to ride where you want.Personally,I like the 4 stroke for woods, but a 250 can be setup for the same thing. You have to decide which one your better on at which enviroment. The 2 stroke will require more shifting on a mx track, small price to pay to eat up a YFZ in the corners and whoops.

i think that 250r's are good for mx but once you get into racing more with real fast people that cant compete with the 450's

umm, yeah the new 4 strokes pump out more power than the 250, its a motor that is 20 years old. if you setup the 250 and the 450 with the same mods, it comes down to what kind of power you want, and rider ability. the 2 stroke is a revver, and the 4 stroke is a tourque monster. each has pros and cons. if you want to go pro, then get a 450. if you just want to have fun, get what makes you happy.
